Bangladesh-Netherlands third T20 abandoned due to rain
The third and final T20 of the three-match series has been abandoned due to rain. Bangladesh’s batters got a chance to bat, but the Netherlands did not get a chance to bat. The Netherlands had to play at least 5 overs for the result of the DL method match. The rain did not give even that time. So the match was abandoned in the end. However, the Tigers had already secured the series win by winning both matches.
Bangladesh scored 164 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 18 overs and 2 balls in a rain-interrupted match at on Wednesday. Liton Das scored the highest score of 73 runs for the team.Liton Das and Saif Hasan opened for Bangladesh today as the two regular openers were rested. Saif could not make use of the opportunity. He returned for 12 runs in 8 balls. However, Liton created a storm at the other end. Bangladesh got a great start with the captain’s bat. The rain hit during the fifth over of the innings. The wicket slowed down a bit after the rain. As a result, the batters had to work hard to score runs. Still, Liton batted well by keeping one end in check.
However, while Liton batted brilliantly at one end, Towhid Hridoy and Shamim Hossain suffered a lot at the other end. Hridoy scored 9 runs off 14 balls. And Shamim’s batting yielded 21 runs off 19 balls. Captain Liton Das was also stopped at 73 runs. Nurul Hasan Sohan and Zaker Ali tried to score quickly towards the end. Sohan remained unbeaten on 22 runs off 11 balls. On the other hand, Zaker’s batting yielded 20 runs off 13 balls.
